Phillies Give Gift to Cubbies
In a magnanimous gesture, and stroke of genius, worthy of the famed wooden horse presented to the citizens of Troy by the invading Grecian armies after ten long years of war, in celebration of Chicago’s favorite son, Barack Obama, officially receiving and accepting the nomination of the Democratic party for the office of President of the United States, and in recognition of Senator Obama’s impressive acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention, the Philadelphia Phillies chose to throw the first game of their four game series against the Cubs.
Enjoy the gift Chicagoans and Cub Fans all over the world! And congratulations to Senator Obama!
UPDATE (8/30): In keeping with the Trojan Horse theme, the Phils allowed the Cubs to party it up in Game 2. But in Game 3 the Phillies let the Cubs (and Jana) know who the boss is.
UPDATE (8/31): Phillies Win! Phillies Win! Phillies Win! Jana Loses! Jana Loses! Jana Loses!

What a load of racists. I can’t believe they gave special treatment to the hometown team of the first black Presidential nominee.
I am disgusted.
“In keeping with the Trojan Horse theme, the Phils allowed the Cubs to party it up in Game 2. But in Game 3 the Phillies let the Cubs (and Jana) know who the boss is.”
Just another reason you are a dem: you’ll believe anything.
Yea, just like you believe the Cubs will some day win a World Series.
It was a push. Since when is 50% a victory?
Are you a victim of fuzzy math?
Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear. Bears don’t do math.
I said in my original post, “It’s a four game home stand for the Cubs. Since both teams are in first place in their respective divisions, and the Phils have to play in Chicago, I am willing to wager that the Phils will win at least 2 of the 4 games.”
I wasn’t referring to the Phillies winning the series, just game 4. Which means they won 2 of the 4 games, and that’s all they needed to do.
“I’m fine.”
